A Christian Love Story Testimony: How God Prepared Her Heart for Marriage After Loss

When God Prepares What You Can’t See

There are some stories that stay with you long after the conversation ends.

When I sat down with Mia, I could feel the presence of God all over her testimony — not because everything was perfect or easy — but because it was real.

This isn’t just a story about remarriage.

It’s a story about letting go.

About healing.

About obedience when it doesn’t make sense.

And about how God lovingly prepares our hearts for things we didn’t even know to pray for.

Whether you’re single, married, divorced, or somewhere in between — I believe Mia’s story will remind you of what’s possible when we surrender our story to the Author of love Himself.

When She Thought Her Story Was Over

Mia never imagined being a wife again.

Six years before this new chapter began, she lost her first husband unexpectedly. It was the kind of loss that leaves silence in places you didn’t even know existed.

But even in her grief — she stayed close to God.

She wasn't praying for marriage.

She wasn't scrolling for a love story.

She was simply healing. Obeying. Living.

And God — in His kindness — was preparing what she could not see.

Obedience Creates Room for Miracles

One of the most powerful moments in Mia’s journey wasn’t when she met her future husband...

It was when God asked her to let go.

Literally.

She had been preparing to move to Houston. She had the plans. The realtor. The lease termination ready.

And then — God said no.

"You're not moving to Houston. The next time you move, it will be for marriage."

Can you imagine the trust it took to stay put when everything in her was ready to start fresh?

But that’s what obedience looks like sometimes.

It doesn’t always feel good.

It doesn’t always make sense.

But it always makes room for God's best.

Letting Go of the Past

The day before Mia's life shifted forever, God whispered another instruction:

"Clean your house."

She knew exactly what He meant.

It wasn’t about clutter. It was about her heart.

It was time to gently put away some of the physical reminders of her late husband — not because she didn’t love him — but because God was making space for something new.

And it hurt.

Obedience often does.

But what she didn’t know... was that the next day, the man God had been preparing for her — a man who had been quietly watching her journey for over a year — would reach out in a way she couldn’t ignore.

And this time, she was ready.

How God Confirmed He Was The One

After that pivotal moment of obedience — clearing her space, letting go of the past — God began to confirm what Mia's heart could barely believe.

The man who had quietly observed her journey online for over a year reached out again.

But this time, something was different.

Mia asked the hard questions early:

"How many times have you been married? How many children do you have?"

She wasn't playing games.

She was protecting her peace.

And his answers? Honest. Humble. Redeemed.

It wasn’t just his transparency that stood out — it was how God began to layer confirmations:

Mia had a dream confirming him — one she later realized connected to a vision she'd written in her dream journal years before.

The man expressed a desire to follow God's lead — not rush, not pressure.

He encouraged Mia to stay sensitive to the Holy Spirit.

This wasn’t just a man pursuing her — this was a man pursuing God.

That's always the first confirmation.

Their First Date (Hint: It Happened in Church!)

Most first dates involve dinner or coffee.

Mia’s first date with this man?

Worship.

He invited her to a worship night at his church — a night where he would be leading.

But what happened next was something Mia didn’t expect.

In front of the entire church, he walked over, took her hand, and led her to sit beside him — openly, intentionally, respectfully.

There was no hiding.

There was no secrecy.

He was claiming her publicly — but more importantly — in the presence of God.

This first date wasn’t just memorable — it was prophetic.

The Power of Inner Healing Before Love

Mia’s story is a beautiful reminder that the real preparation for marriage happens long before the wedding day.

It happens in the secret place.

It happens in obedience.

It happens when we let God heal us from the inside out.

If Mia had not done the hard heart work — letting go of the past, trusting God’s timing, and obeying His voice — she would not have been in position for this love story.

Inner healing makes room for God’s best.

If you're in a season of preparation, I created the Radiant Love Workbook just for women like you — a guided journey to prepare your heart for love God's way.

Lessons Every Woman Can Take From Mia's Story

1. Healing is the Real Preparation

We often think preparation looks like dating, dressing up, or positioning ourselves socially.

But the greatest preparation happens in private with God.

2. Obedience Opens Doors No Man Can Shut

Mia stayed when God said stay.

She let go when God said let go.

And that obedience positioned her for blessing.

3. God’s Timing is Perfect

Mia wasn’t looking for love.

But God was writing her story in the background.

His timing is never late — but it’s rarely early.

Final Reflections & Encouragement From Me (Roserbie)

Mia's story reminded me of something so important:

God is always working behind the scenes.

Even when we feel unseen.

Even when we feel stuck.

Even when we think it's "too late."

Whether you're single, married, widowed, or waiting — I want you to know that God's plans for you are good.

Not just good — better than you imagined.

Stay obedient.

Stay soft.

Stay in His presence.

The story He is writing for you is worth the wait.

I shared my own journey of how God chose my husband here — if you're looking for more encouragement.
