The Story Behind the Journal
I couldn't stop.
Then two words changed everything.
I was in the middle of striving and confusion and pain.
Not the kind you can point to. The kind that lives underneath everything.
The kind where you get up every morning and keep going
because stopping feels like proof that you were wrong.
That they were right. That God wasn't in it after all.
So I kept going. I held it together on the outside.
I prayed. I believed. I showed up.
But something underneath kept running in the background.
A low hum of fear I could not explain and could not turn off.
I had been holding my breath for a long time.
Living in a long, tense pause.
Not living. Surviving.
Waiting for something to fall apart.
Bracing for impact that never came.
And still I could not stop bracing.
Then one day I said two words out loud.
I AM SAFE.
I said them again. And again. And again.
Not because I felt them. Because I needed to hear them.
And something in me let go.
God had been providing every single time.
Every single time there had been ground beneath my feet.
I just could not feel it. Because I was using
everything I had to hold myself up.
Every ounce of strength. Every prayer. Every striving.
All of it aimed at staying above water
in water I was never drowning in.
The ground was always there.
I had just never let myself stand on it.
"For in the day of trouble He will keep me safe in His dwelling; He will hide me in the shelter of His sacred tent and set me high upon a rock."
Psalm 27:5
This journal was born from that moment.
Not from a quiet season. From the middle of the fire.
Every page was built to walk you back to what God already said
when you have been striving so long you forgot He said it.
It is not a devotional. It is not a pretty book you buy and set on your shelf.
It is a place to practice the truth until your body catches up
with what your spirit already knows.
Page by page. In your own handwriting.
At your own pace.
Until the ground stops feeling like something you have to earn
and starts feeling like somewhere you already stand.
